Community Integrated Science and Social Studies Program
	In Kindergarten, it is important for students to broaden their knowledge of the world around them. Our Social Studies program teaches students to understand their own community and how it is part of a bigger society-Earth. Each week the students are immersed in a hands on community field trip to learn about the local businesses and landmarks, as well as to serve our community through such projects as litter collection and recycling.
	As we learn about the other cultures and their needs, our students fund raise to better the lives of our fellow countries. We have raised money to feed orphans in Burundi and helped families in Thailand obtain clean water. Our Science program is an applied and practical curriculum. The students build and create each experiment themselves. Every lesson is a step-by-step process using safe and common supplies that teach the students discipline and perseverance in coming to a conclusion. Science is seen as a fun activity that can be used through all aspects of life, especially in Kauai’s natural surroundings.
